Pre-Conference Workshop Registration

Please note that if you register for the ARCAS Symposium ONLY (and not for the AAA2017 Conference) the ARCAS Symposium rates will be $25.50 for students and $45.50 for others (not the discounted rates below).

Date: Tuesday 5 December 2017
Time: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Venue: Pullman Melbourne on the Park - Delacombe Room

The ARCAS Symposium 2017 will be held on the day before the AAA Conference. The Symposium theme ‘Horizons in Australasian Archaeometry’ aims simply to showcase recent research and new directions. The format also aims to highlight new discoveries and current research by the youngest generation of scholars.

The format for the Symposium will include:

  • 20 x 10 min time slots for presentations including questions.

Presenters can choose between either (1) Pecha Kucha format (i.e. automated 20 slides for 20 s each, total 6 min 40s, leaving ~3 min for questions) OR (2) a similarly short talk but with fewer slides, no automation but leaving at least 3 min for questions.

  • 6 x 30 min time slots reserved for Early Career Researchers (ECRs), who may be selected from presentation proposals received and invited by the organisers. Costs of these ECRs will be covered by ARCAS.

Everyone is welcome! ARCAS will cover half the catering (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea) and other venue costs, with consequently reduced rates for presenters and all audience participants:

  • $20 for students and $40 for others.

You will be able to register online as a presenter or audience participant, when you register for AAA Conference 2017. For further information, please contact us:
